What this guide does
This guide has no user accounts, email forms, advertising or embedded game. County filters, archive search, practice reveals, the rehearsal timer and the distance tally run in your browser. Search terms and practice answers are not sent to our server.
This guide has a dedicated Google Analytics 4 property for boreen.wiki. Optional analytics stays off unless you choose to allow it using the footer’s Analytics choices control. No measurement identifier from another website is reused.
Optional Google Analytics 4
After you opt in, our code sends page_view and five named interactions: official_game_click, archive_search, hint_expand, answer_reveal and related_article_click. The custom fields are limited to a clean page URL/title, link path, preset content context, archive result count and filter-use flags. Typed searches, practice answers and the URL query string are not included by our event code. Google may also generate standard session/engagement events and set analytics cookies after consent.
Automatic enhanced measurement for search, forms, downloads, videos, scrolling, outbound clicks and page changes is disabled in this dedicated stream; Google signals and advertising-personalisation signals are disabled by our tag. The current event-data retention setting is two months; this is not a claim that every provider record or aggregate report is deleted after that period.
Automated browsers, qa visits, preview hosts and any host other than boreen.wiki are excluded. Commissioning visits use debug mode and a verification label and are reported separately from genuine users. Read Google Analytics data safeguards ↗ · Read Google’s Privacy Policy ↗
External destinations and hosting
Links to the official game and source websites lead to third parties with their own policies. This site is delivered through Cloudflare Pages; the provider receives network requests needed to serve and protect it. We have not audited Cloudflare’s network-log retention. This guide has no account system, contact form, advertising tag or embedded official game. No regulatory certification is claimed.
Local choices and future changes
Your choice is stored locally under boreen-guide-analytics as yes or no. It remains in this browser until changed or its site data is cleared; we do not set an expiry for that preference. Study filters, tally and reveals do not store an answer history. A commissioning tab can also hold boreen-measurement-check in session storage until the tab session ends.
- Open Analytics choices in the footer.
- Choose Keep analytics off to stop subsequent measurement from this integration, including after you previously opted in.
- Use your browser’s site-data controls if you also want to remove existing Analytics cookies or the saved choice. Clearing the choice leaves analytics off until a new opt-in.
Withdrawing stops future collection by this integration; it does not recall events already sent to Google or automatically delete existing cookies. Allowing analytics later enables collection again. Closing the dialog alone does not opt you in. We must update this notice before adding a new form, advert or third-party service.
